Lopsided

Abby has become obsessed with her hair. She loves to pull it, comb it and wash it herself. I only wish she was as obsessed with me doing fun things with it as well. She allowed me to put these lopsided pigtails in for a grand total of five minutes. I only had to smack her hand away from them about 200 times to get these photos. I have so many wonderful ribbons, bands, pins, and flowers, that are just sitting in her drawer gathering dust. She just recently allowed me to put a hat on her head; although she has been known to take it off and throw on the ground when I'm not looking.

Any suggestions on how to "dazzle her up" without losing my mind?

I can't believe Abby let you put elastics in her hair at all. I got the message loud and clear that the "hair-do" thing was not going to happen. Yeah! Progress. She looks so cute with the piggy tails.

first off, if you can tie her head down for a sec, you've got to use different ties. I've got some of the plastic kind that you can wrap so tight that she won't be able to pull them out for 7 minutes. (I've got a whole unopened package you can have) Second, bribery. Seriously. I don't care what it is she likes, but give it to her, but only while she sits for you. (or after if that's what will work) Ainsley used to get a pack of fun size M&Ms. My friend's kid would rather be pooping constantly than give up raisins, some kids (not little abernator) would love to watch tv while you do it. Maybe let her play drums on the pots and pans while you do it, whatever works. You must find her weakness and exploit it.

She does look adorable!

Crystal is right - that's exactly what I do with Lottie. The Japanese elastics are soo much better than American stuff. Load up at the Daiso. Lottie can rip out barrettes, but not those elastics. I also have to force myself to do her hair at least once a week, or she "forgets" how to sit still to do it. It's cute though!

Yes--you have to use the tiny elastics--not the ones covered in cloth. and my kids have NE-VER kept a hat on to this date.

I have no advise. My child came with perfect hair and I still can't get it right.

But then again look at my hair. I'm lucky if I get it cut every 6 months and it needs it every 2. Good luck.

Rylee has always had so much hair she was able to get hair dos from the beginning. So she just kept them in. But Molly...that's a different story. She can even take out the the elastic that Rach was talking about. Although, I believe that is the best option!

She is adorable, by the way.

Oh, and my Jodi book is waiting for me at the Library. I'm excited to try it.

Ah yes, trying to put the hair up, what a daunting task. All I can say is good luck. Elizabeth will let me put her "pretty's" in. BUT she usually has them ripped out of her hair with in the hour. I swear she has a secret stash someone, because I can't find them. However she has no problem wearing hats like daddy.
